Chelsea vs Al-Hilal

Chelsea will begin the Club World Cup campaign with the semi-final match in the semi-final against Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal this afternoon.

European Champions Chelseaface Asian winners the Asian Champions, Hilal to make it into the semifinals of the Fifa Club World Cup today with a spot in the final on Sunday up to prizes at the United Arab Emirates.

Today, the west Londoners are currently in their home country of the United Arab Emirates to compete in the world championship that is the FIFA Club World Cup.

Due to their top position, Chelsea will enter at the final four stages and will take on Al-Hilal this afternoon after beating Al Jazira by 6-1 last Sunday in order to make it to the semi-finals.

Brazilian top players Palmeiras defeated Egyptians Al Ahly in the other semi to advance to the final on Saturday.

Chelsea has never been crowned this tournament. Club World Cup and were knocked out by Corinthians back in 2012.

The Club World Cup semi-final will be held on Wednesday 9 February.

The game will be played on The Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi and will kick-off at 4:45pm UK time.

The winner will play Palmeiras at the Club World Cup final on Saturday.

Chelsea announced a team of 23 players who traveled for the trip to Abu Dhabi, with the Blues arriving on Sunday.

Reece James, who has been absent since suffering an injury to his hamstring against Brighton on December 12, is currently in Abu Dhabi but will not be in their matchday squad.

Edouard Mendy will link up with the squad in the coming days and the goalkeeper who is in good form being the one who led Senegal towards African Cup of Nations glory at the weekend.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is not travelling with Chelsea as the England midfielder still struggling with an injury he suffered recently.

Boss Thomas Tuchel has not travelled also after being tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday before immediately going into self-isolation.

The Blues are hopeful that Tuchel could join the team at Abu Dhabi in due course However, until then, the assistant coach Arno Michels, Zsolt Lower will guard the fort.
