Nate Bargatze, a comedian, will be the first host of 2025 Award Ceremony, which airs on CBS Sunday September 14.
Bargatze said, “It is a great honor to be asked by CBS to host this iconic awards show. I am beyond excited to collaborate with them to create an evening that families can enjoy around the globe.”
The nominees will be announced in July 2025. They include Apple TV+’s Severance, which has 27 nominations.
Ted Danson will be the first couple to receive the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award in 2025. Mary Steenburgen and Ted Danson will also become the first pair to jointly receive this award.
Cris Abrego (chair of the Television Academy) shared that “Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, have used their voices and hearts to champion causes which uplift planets and people for many years.” From environmental advocacy to humanitarian aid, they lead with dignity, integrity, and purpose. The Television Academy honors their incredible legacy of service by presenting the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award.
