It’s championship Saturday, the final weekend of the collegiate football season. After today’s games, the College Football Playoff picture will be much clearer.
The premier game of the weekend is the SEC championship in Atlanta, which pits the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs against the No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide. Georgia appears to be in the top four regardless of what happens on Saturday. Alabama’s chances aren’t looking good following a heartbreaking four-overtime win over Auburn last week.
The day begins with the No. 5 Oklahoma State Cowboys defending their Big 12 title against the No. 9 Baylor Bears. The Pokes have climbed the standings and might earn their first-ever playoff berth with a win and a little help. The No. 2 Michigan Wolverines face the Iowa Hawkeyes for the Big Ten title on Saturday night. Following a dominating victory over Ohio State, Another win Saturday would put Michigan in the playoffs after a rout of rival Ohio State. Between those two games, the No. 4 Cincinnati Bearcats will face Houston in an attempt to remain undefeated and keep their playoff aspirations alive.
